It seems that KamAZ has managed to get around the problem of auto parts shortage. New generation K5 trucks were rebooted on the assembly line with components from friendly countries, as well as those located in Russia. In February, 272 cars rolled out of the gates of the company.

According to the truck giant’s press service, the plant should reach a production volume of at least 500 units per month by the end of the first quarter of 2023.

It is worth recalling that the flagship K5, which ten years ago became a kind of “copy-paste” of the German Mercedes-Benz Actros, was forced to “slip” on the assembly line due to problems with spare parts. Car assembly was frozen last year. Now, as mentioned before, the problem is solved. Production localization is currently at the level of 70-80%.

Admittedly, KAMAZ even had to work hard to reconfigure some equipment. However, according to representatives of PJSC KAMAZ, this made it possible to make the trucks “more technologically advanced”. Well, we’ll see…
