The British automaker Aston Martin has announced a program for the transition to the production of environmentally friendly cars along with its fellow countrymen from Bentley. On the way to the electrification of its model line, the brand will switch to the production of exclusively hybrids and electric vehicles, and in addition, by 2040, Aston Martin production and the work of the entire supply chain of the legendary company should become environmentally friendly. The Racing.Green strategy presented by Aston Martin includes membership in the international Science Goals initiative, which will help reduce harmful emissions through scientific solutions and help fight climate change on Earth.

The first production (not counting the Aston Martin Valkyrie faux hypercar) hybrid in the brand’s lineup will be the new mid-engined Valhalla supercar, which is set to go into production in 2024.

Aston Martin’s first electric car is scheduled to premiere in 2025, and by 2026, all new Aston Martin models will have an electrified powertrain option, so that from 2030 the brand can switch to the production of exclusively plug-in electric vehicles and hybrids.

As part of its commitment to Racing.Green, Aston Martin will aim to achieve zero emissions at its manufacturing facilities by 2030, reduce supply chain emissions by 30% from a 2020 baseline by the same date, and achieve supply chain zero emissions by 2030. as early as 2039. Within three years, it is planned to completely get rid of plastic packaging and reduce water consumption by 15%.

The British automaker intends to switch to exclusively renewable energy at its plants in the UK, and as a first step towards this goal, it will install more than 14,000 solar panels at its plant in St. 6.4 MW of electricity and cover 20% of the company’s needs.
