Created the world’s first airbag in the form of pants

The Swedish company Airbag Inside Sweden AB has announced the creation of trousers and a vest with integrated airbags. The product names are completely devoid of originality – Airbag Jeans and Airbag Vest. The whole system is also called “smart”: Airbag Outfit. Rescue and impact resistant clothing is primarily aimed at motorcyclists. The official world premiere of the product should take place before the end of February. The trousers, like the vest, consist of an outer fabric layer and a set of synthetic air bellows hidden underneath. Each accessory is equipped with a replaceable container of compressed gas – carbon dioxide.

The system is activated the moment the rider flies out of the saddle in an accident. At the same time, a cord attached somewhere on the body of the bicycle pulls out the pins of the gas cylinder safety valves. He immediately inflates his pants and vest. Airbags in clothing soften the blows of the biker brother’s body on the asphalt and other objects of reality around him. Furthermore, the gas gradually comes out of his pants and vest. After that, the protective ammunition is ready for reuse – it is enough to replace the empty cylinders with new ones. The outer fabric part of the Airbag Outfit can be cleaned of dirt after a fall and can be worn as if nothing happened.
