Initially, the M12 mega route was supposed to connect Moscow with Kazan, but later it was decided to extend it to Yekaterinburg. Now, speaking in Gostiny Dvor with a message to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to bring this toll road to Vladivostok. Granted, he didn’t set deadlines.

“A decision has already been made to extend the highway between Moscow and Kazan to Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk and Tyumen, and in the future to Irkutsk and Vladivostok with access to Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China,” the head of state said in a message to the federal government. Edit.

Of course, the M12 highway will not connect Moscow with Vladivostok in the next few years. Indeed, by the end of 2023, only the main section to Kazan, which was built in 2018, will be put into operation. Only after that, the road builders will begin to build the next fragments – to Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk, which will take several years. And probably only after that will begin to extend the route to the Far East.

Recall that today three sections of the M12 toll road are available to drivers – in the Moscow and Vladimir regions. The total length of the highway will be almost 800 kilometers. It will reduce the travel time from the Mother See to the capital of Tatarstan by almost half: from 12 to 6.5 hours.
