Certification of Iranian cars started in Russia

Iranian companies Saipa and Iran Khodro are conducting certification tests of their vehicles in Russia. After their successful implementation, manufacturers can receive OTTS and start official sales of models in our country, as well as form a dealer network and spare parts warehouses.

The representative of Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade, Omid Ghalibaf, told RIA Novosti that a batch of cars had been sent to us for testing. At the same time, the official did not say whether the vehicles from the Middle East would enter Russia directly or through a neighboring state. Currently, the countries are continuing the dialogue, which will result in a supply agreement. Only then are there details.

Recall that Saipa had previously agreed with Belarus to send 45,000 Shahin and Quick models to the republic. Both are planning to sell in our market. These are B-class sedans, which are based on quite old technical solutions.

The flagship can be considered Shahin, created on the Toyota Corolla E160 platform. The length of the “five-door” is 4460 mm, and the wheelbase is 2650 mm. Under the hood, a 110 hp turbo unit is mated to a “mechanics” or “automatic”. It can be considered as a competitor to LADA Vesta, Kia Rio and Volkswagen Polo Sedan.
