What can we expect in the near future? A new high-speed highway from Moscow to Vladivostok, promised by Russian President Vladimir Putin, low-cost crossovers from the Chinese brand Jetour, domestically developed ABS systems and a sharp increase in the price of car sharing. And more about the most important car news of the outgoing week – in the video review of the AvtoVzglyad portal.

Let’s start with the main event of recent days – and not just the car life of the country, but in principle – the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin with a message to the Federal Assembly. The most curious thing about our transport theme is that the head of state promised to extend the M12 Moscow-Kazan toll road to Vladivostok. But the pressing problems of the auto industry from him, alas, received only general words.

By the way, about the “scarves”. The state-owned Avtodor held an annual indexation of fares for travel on its highways. So, a trip from Moscow to Krasnodar along the M4 Don highway will now cost the driver in a passenger car 3,500 rubles on a day off, and to St. Petersburg – along the M11 Neva – 2,500 rubles (excluding the main section from MKAD to Solnechnogorsk). Travel costs on other routes of the state-owned company have also increased: M1 Belarus, M3 Ukraine, M12 Moscow-Kazan and the Central Ring Road.

Bad news for those who do not often drive on toll roads, but actively move around the city in terms of car sharing: short-term rental of cars can also increase in price. The fact is that the Central Bank, which defends the interests of greedy insurers, proposed to place shared cars in a separate OSAGO tariff group. And if this idea gets the support of other departments, the service can be up to 200% in price.

And one more “social” news. The traffic police summed up the results of last year and found out that in 2022 the Russians broke the record number of fines. For twelve months, the traffic police issued 201 million orders to drivers, which is 12% more than a year earlier. More than 90% of all these fines are imposed on the basis of data from cameras. And here again an increase: by 14% compared to 2021. As for the total amount, it is as much as 137 billion rubles.

Not without news from the “car” fields. For example, we learned that the first commercial copies of the renewed LADA Vesta will roll off the assembly line on March 3. Initially, sedans and station wagons will be produced without fashionable multimedia and CVT. But they will be equipped with a system of exchange rate stabilization, airbags and ABS. By the way, the Chinese company KESENS becomes the supplier of ABS, it replaces Bosch.

For now, the Chinese are everything. In all perspectives. Very soon another “heavenly” brand, Jetour, will enter the Russian market. It will open order acceptance for its cars in March-April. Sales will begin with the Dashing and X90 crossovers, which are currently undergoing certification. For the first, according to preliminary data, they will ask for 2,200,000 rubles, and for the second – from 4,000,000.

And in more detail about the main events in the car life of the country in recent days – in the video summary of the AvtoVzglyad portal, which can be viewed here.
