New generation drivers don’t even know what cassettes and CDs are. Maybe that’s for the best. In the age of digitization, our compatriots “use” smartphones and connect them to the multimedia systems of their cars. Just a little while and the radio will go to the dustbin of history.
A survey was conducted on the VKontakte social network to find out what drivers prefer to listen to while driving. Nearly 7,000 people participated in the study. Of these, 64% admitted that they continue to listen to the radio in the car, and 37% choose music content previously downloaded to a “flash drive”. Another 24% use their own smartphones connected to car radios to play music and only 7.5% of respondents only listen to their favorite songs occasionally.
Surprisingly, 10% of respondents still turn on CDs in the car interior, and 1% even turn on cassettes. In addition, both car manufacturers and manufacturers of radio tape recorders have almost completely abandoned the creation of such musical media at the beginning of the “zero”.
In terms of priorities, 85% of voters choose to listen to music, 25% – news, 6% – audio books. Only 3% listen to podcasts in the car and only 1% listen to tutorials, blogs and lectures. Another 6% prefer to drive in silence.
