AVTOVAZ declares its first goal to gain a dominant position in the Russian market. Note that this position, namely a share of 28%, was already conquered by the company at the end of 2022, when it sold about 180,000 cars. The second direction Togliatti wants to move in is product line expansion, which involves developing their own platforms. The third point is the achievement of technological sovereignty by 2030. The fourth vector is related to the export of LADA branded products and the penetration of new markets. And finally, fifthly, AVTOVAZ wants to maintain profitability and achieve financial stability by 2030. It is planned that this task will be solved by paying off the debts accumulated during the period when the company was managed by a foreign shareholder – the Renault-Nissan alliance.
It should be noted that the mentioned strategic goals seem very ambitious and not very realistic in light of the growing expansion of Chinese car brands in the Russian market. It’s scary to imagine how many models and platforms they will bring to Russia over the next seven years, for which the AVTOVAZ program document was designed.
Moreover, in the context of the sanctions war, the general instability in the world economy and the continued strong attack of the same “Chinese” on the world car markets, it would be strange to seriously hope for a significant success of the LADA brand outside Russia. . Nevertheless, let’s hope that AVTOVAZ’s program really comes true. After all, it is the only domestic manufacturer of mass models in the country. We have nothing else and don’t expect it.
