Some laws are notable for their ambiguity and sanctions. For example, the one that forbids drivers to color their cars. However, the technology comes to the rescue of those who want to eclipse. And where paints and curtains are prohibited, smart films are used that change transparency at the touch of a button. The AvtoVzglyad portal discovered all the pros and cons of such know-how.

To be fair, our executive branch works so-so. Take the traffic police, for example, which has largely been made obsolete by the rise of all-seeing cameras. So, lone carriages graze somewhere in the regions backyards in search of malicious alcohol offenders. Sometimes when the authorities demand a reinforcement order come in, they huddle in packs, and then they slow everyone down in a row, calling their action a heist, or even an operation. As a rule, though, all these roundups again come down to one thing – sniffing the cab and drivers for yesterday’s “exhaust”, or at least red eyes (so there’s something to hook up). And the fact that tinting a car is not a big sin, and the price of a fine for tinted windows is negligible.

And yet, if they still find mistakes when painting, the situation is not very pleasant. A fine of 500 rubles, of course, does not scare anyone, but the need to scam is another ordeal. Entrepreneurs “came to the rescue” by inventing quick-release blinds with magnets and regular curtains. But there was little convenience in them – at the sight of the traffic police you have to frantically remove, clean, hide. And here came technologies to save the drivers – electronic tinting – he pressed a button and the glass darkened, changing its transparency. In addition, there can be different dimming levels, as well as types of electronic tinting.

However, no matter how many variants and technologies for changing the light transmission of a film are presented, and this is PDLC with its polymeric liquid crystal layer, and SPD with suspended particles, and an electrochromic or electrochemical layer, and advanced Vario Plus Sky- technology with its smart glasses, – they all have at least one superficial flaw. Yes, that’s the price! The cost of installing electronic paints starts from 80,000 rubles. Of course, the more complex, expensive and better the materials, the higher the cost. You have to be a real vampire to hate the sun so zealously. Or just a confident businessman who has something to hide and from whom.

There are other disadvantages of electronic coloring. For example, you cannot set such a dimming yourself. You need special equipment, experience and direct hands. But even with all this, installing electronic shades deprives you of the benefits of an official warranty – you will disrupt the car’s electrical network. Of course you are breaking the law. If they get caught…

Some types of electrotoning are completely electrically dependent. There must be constant voltage on it, and this is an additional load on the battery. Yes, and in Russia such a shade is not produced. This means that the prices for these products and their availability depend on the exchange rate and the situation at the border.

Be that as it may, electronic tinting has plenty of followers. After all, it perfectly absorbs sunlight, does not allow the cabin to heat up, and perfectly hides passengers and accidentally forgotten things.
