Why no one drives Chinese cars popular in Russia in China

It’s curious, but the Chinese themselves in their homeland do not at all honor the products of their own auto industry, preferring to drive products of foreign brands. Why Asians refuse to roll on their crafts, the AvtoVzglyad portal found out.

According to the results of the past year, 23,000,000 cars were sold in China. Moreover, there were indecently few Chinese among them. Perhaps, with only rare exceptions in the form of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV electric car, the BYD Song Plus crossover and the Haval H6 SUV, which took only ninth place in the TOP-10 most purchased cars in China.

According to a report from the auto industry analysis, natives prefer Japanese and German models, including Nissan, Toyota and Volkswagen. Well, you can’t ban beautiful life! In addition, in terms of mentality, the Chinese are somewhat similar to the Russians, who treat the domestic auto industry with contempt and buy only domestic products due to a lack of money to buy something decent.

In major metropolitan areas of China, it is quite difficult to see the local “cart”. Even taxi drivers roll out German Volkswagens, Korean Hyundais and American Buicks. Although in the regions, as, indeed, in our country, worn-out local cars drive on the roads, including Lifan products that have sunk into oblivion.

Considering that only a few years ago the “heavenly” brands began to produce cars of more acceptable quality, local motorists are still reluctant to believe in their reliability. In addition, they are largely used to operating machines that have proven themselves through experience. By the way, sedans are considered the most popular body type in China. Moreover, it is more mid-sized and almost always with an automatic transmission.

Business sedans are in great demand in major cities, and usually in elongated versions made by manufacturers specifically for the local market. But the station wagon or hatchback is an extremely rare phenomenon. Basically like an SUV with a huge frame. But there are enough minivans, which, however, is not surprising – a large, practical car with decent handling. Again, this niche is almost completely crushed by the overseas Buick.

There are many more crossovers of different genres on Chinese roads, including electric and hybrid. The SUV segment here is the second most popular among car owners after the sedans mentioned above. At the same time, all-wheel drive is not popular.

Import brands from year to year are increasing their presence in China, which has become the largest car market in the world, although they periodically show a decline in sales. True, local brands “sag” much more strongly, giving an increasing share of the country’s auto sector to foreigners.

Meanwhile, Chinese car exports are rapidly gaining momentum. In the same Europe, local concerns began to ask the authorities for additional subsidies, so as not to lose business in the conditions of the global crisis and the permanent attack of the Asians. Well, in general, you already know about the active attack of “heavenly” brands on Russia. In a few months they have come close to the unsinkable leader in the face of the domestic LADA and apparently will not stop there.

After all, as already mentioned, the mentality of the Russian people is similar to the Chinese, which means that instead of the “Lada” we will choose foreign cars. In addition, the upcoming premieres, prepared by the guys from China, promise to be even better quality and, above all, not expensive.
