The partnership between Honda and General Motors is nothing new, as they already unveiled the idea of jointly producing “affordable electric vehicles” for the global market in early April, without detailing many aspects.

“Whether they will be based on a Honda design or a GM platform has yet to be decided,” Aoyama told the British news agency. “We do not decide which factories [ou] what will be produced, but we will separate the production process to allow cars to be built in any plant, be it Honda or GM.”

Honda vehicles are manufactured in Brazil at the Itirapina (SP) facility, while General Motors produces vehicles more locally, in Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador. The partnership center has not yet been identified, but specialized sites such as Motor1 suggest that it could be a former Japanese plant in Sumar (St. Petersburg) or a GM plant in Rosario (Argentina).
