5 cars that rust faster than others in the spring

Our roads are unforgiving to all cars, dousing their delicate bodies with extremely toxic de-icing reagents. In other words, it is important for every buyer of a used car to know whether this or that car is well protected against corrosion. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” tells about the most rotting “iron horses” of the Russian car market.

Let’s start with budget cars. The first generation Renault Logan was insanely popular among our citizens. Because there are many cars on the secondary. But you need to choose wisely, because the paintwork of the “Frenchman” is very thin. From this, after a few winters, “saffron milk fungi” appear in the lacquer flakes. It is also interesting that in terms of corrosion resistance, the sedan turned out to be weaker than the Sandero soplatform hatchback.

Cheap “Chinese” will also bring a lot of trouble. For example, the Lifan X60 crossover. So don’t look at the affordable “price”. The Asian SUV is distinguished by rather thin metal. Yes, and at the factory the protective treatment was weak. Add to this a modest coat of paint and get the result: “Lifan” turns into a sieve after 2-3 years. Therefore, it is now unrealistic to find a copy that would not have undergone a body repair procedure.

The Nissan Teana J32 series also has many problems. It was released from 2008 to 2013. Incredibly, the “sores” of the sedan are similar to those of the cheap “Chinese” mentioned above. The bonnet, the bottom of the doors, the bottom and various chrome parts suffer from sandblasting. And on the thresholds, fenders and trunk lid, deep corrosion develops quite quickly.

Things are no better with the Hyundai Sonata EF. A spacious and richly equipped car will disappoint not only with a brittle suspension, but also with rotting iron. Places of appearance of red spots are classic – windshield frame, fenders, sills, lower parts of doors and trunk lid. Often there are more serious “problems” in the form of crumbling spars and engine screen seams. So it is better to pay attention to more modern Sonatas.

You have to be careful with the “villains”. Like, for example, the Nissan Pathfinder. The third generation of the model looks stylish, but the frame does not show miracles of durability. And here the floor panels and thresholds corrode, the welds and even the front pillars are covered with “saffron milk caps”. Therefore, it is better to buy a used Pathfinder from a trusted seller. Otherwise, you will be tormented by plugging holes in the most unexpected places.
