Why no workshop will make a really good “anti-corrosion agent” for your car

Practice shows that advertising oath of anti-corrosion specialists “forever” to stop the spread of rust on the car is worth nothing. The calculation of such statements is based on the fact that the car owner will be rid of his car in a few years anyway. And no one will check the veracity of the promises of “eternity”. The AvtoVzglyad portal found out how to actually deal with the spread of rust in a car.

Proprietary “eternal” anti-corrosion compounds are bitumen-based, oil-based, paraffin-based and polymerizable plastic. In practice, bitumen quickly dries out in the heat and cracks, opening the way for water and reagents to the metal of the body. And paraffin reacts to frost in much the same way. Liquid plastic after polymerization basically has a tendency to crack.

As for oil-based anticorrosive compounds, they tend to leach out over time under the influence of gravity, thinning the protective layer. “Soviet” recipes with “gun grease” are not only imperfect, but also not very technologically advanced. Therefore, “pushsalo” is not used in workshops where treatment with anti-corrosion compounds is initiated.

Meanwhile, the secret of truly reliable anti-corrosion treatment of a car has long been known to craftsmen in garages. It is at the intersection of the use of the good old “pushsal” and one of the modern drugs. The latter must have an oil base. No bitumen and other paraffins! “Pushsalo” comes in two types of consistency: like sour cream and like wax. The first is necessary for processing the internal cavities, the second – the bottom and wings.

We take some kind of “oily” anti-corrosion compound and dilute it (approximately in a ratio of 3 to 1) with “pussy” for internal holes. To do this, you must first melt it (for example, on a gas stove). Then we drive this mixture with a medical syringe or the like through the technological holes into the internal cavities of the body – we preheat them with a construction hair dryer. This is necessary so that the composition spreads well inside. In the same way, after we finish the “nutrition”, we mix the more liquid “pushsalo” with our “anti-corrosion” oil. And already with a brush we apply the mixture to the bottom and wings of the car – previously manually cleaned of dirt.

It is clear that with this technology it is possible to process the car only by yourself or by a craftsman in the garage. In workshops specializing in “anti-corrosion agents”, they will not be fooled by this method – too long, too cumbersome and too dirty. But on the other hand, the symbiosis of “pushsala” and the modern “oily” anti-corrosion composition ideally penetrates into all cracks, impregnates the remaining dirt and rust and does not dry out (and does not crack!) for decades. And in the summer, melting in the heat, it spreads, “healing wounds” in an anti-corrosion coating. After all, the latter inevitably appear due to the mechanical impact of abrasive roads or after driving through snowdrifts.
