Tariffs on Russian highways for heavy trucks continue to rise, many carriers have already reduced the number of trips and cars. In order not to turn the situation into a possible failure of the supply of vital goods, including food, as happened in some European countries, businessmen and delegates called on the Cabinet of Ministers and the Central Bank for help in the abolition of the Platon system, ruining an already impoverished industry.
– Many carrier claims are made under the pretext that heavy trucks cause damage to the roads. But we still have a specialized agency called not the Ministry of Roads, but the Ministry of Transport, and the approach to the industry should be different. Unfortunately, freight transport remains one of the most affected segments and at the same time the least protected by the state. Despite our fundamental disagreement with the Platon system, it continues to exist, and rates are rising, – said the head of the Just Russia – For Truth faction, Sergei Mironov.
It is worth noting that about 70% of all goods in Russia are transported by truck, but instead of aid, the industry is still “milked”.
The head of the Gruzavtotrans Association, Vladimir Matyagin, noted that carriers’ questions often simply do not want to be heard in “high offices”, but in such difficult times for the country, certain measures simply need to be worked out, creating the basis for new legislative initiatives .
