In 2020 thanks to the success of the Spanish series La Casa de Papela Netflix announced that it would be releasing a Korean version of the piece. With the first teaser released earlier this year, the producer released a new commercial this Friday (29) but now with an official premiere date: La Casa de Papel: Korea will appear in the streaming catalog on June 24, 2022.

The remake of the Spanish production follows the original premise, changing the location of the robbery and the masks, which are no longer inspired by artist Salvador Dalí. In the new version, the main character Teacher (Yoo Ji Tae) is planning a heist on the Korean Peninsula and will bring together other characters with the necessary skills and characteristics for the mission.

A 40-second teaser was posted on the official Netflix Brazil YouTube channel. On Twitter, the platform posted a new poster for the Korean version of La Casa de Papel. Check it out below.

The cast of La Casa de Papel: Korea consists of several artists known for their roles in well-known series and films, such as actor Yoo Ji Tae Oldboy who will play the Professor Park Hae Soopresented in the South Korean series “Round 6”, will play Berlin and the actress Kim Yunjinwho starred in Lost will play Inspector Ugin, who will have the same role as Raquel (Lisbon).

Jun Jeong So (On fire) like Tokyo Lee Won Jeong (money war) play Moscow and Kim Ji Hoon (Flower of Evil) as Denver is also in the main cast.

The direction of the series is Kim Hong Song (Faces of the Devil) and a script written Ryu Young Jae (Zombie Invasion 2: Peninsula).

It’s also worth remembering that after the original Spanish series ended in December 2021, a spin-off based on the character Berlin with actor Pedro Alonso was confirmed to be released in 2023 on the streaming catalogue.

Also note that Netflix recently released a list of all original films set to premiere in September.
