AVTOVAZ informed the world community that in March 2023, LADA brand dealers were able to transport a total of 23,335 cars. The automaker’s press office emphasizes that this is nearly 90% more than on the first day of spring 2022, when private-brand car sales collapsed to near zero.
Total sales of LADA cars for the first quarter of this year showed an increase of 21.9% (64,240 units) compared to the previous year. The sales statistics of AVTOVAZ cars by model look even nicer. In March this year, domestic buyers bought 16,254 units of LADA Granta. This is 373.5% more than in the disastrous March 2022. For LADA Niva Legend, the same figure was 212.1%. This corresponds to 2703 SUVs sold. Against this background, an 83.1% increase in sales of LADA Niva Travel (3,721 off-road vehicles purchased in March 2023) seems like baby talk.
If the quarterly sales of LADA cars continue in the coming months, the number of branded cars sold in 2023 will not exceed 260,000 units. Recall that earlier the head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, announced the company’s plans to produce 400,000 cars by 2023.
