It is believed that the passenger car market comes to life in the spring, as many car owners consider this period to be the most suitable for fleet renewal. Portal “AutoVzglyad” explains why they are wrong.

The idea of buying a car in the spring, especially in the current Russian circumstances, is not quite possible. This is due to a whole series of facts and circumstances. However, let’s make a reservation that we are not talking about premium brand models in this case. As well as about the “Chinese” at a price of more than 3-3.5 million rubles. With such a budget, it is not at all necessary to pay at least some attention to seasonality when buying a vehicle for yourself.

We are talking about the vast majority of Russian motorists. If they can afford to upgrade the fleet, then only on the secondary market. Or in the segment of new cars no more than 2-2.5 million rubles, which we are now beginning to consider “budget”. As for new cars, now their offer on the market is frankly small.

From the Russian, the products of AVTOVAZ with its “imperishable” in the form of LADA Granta and Niva. I don’t even want to recall the furious UAZs of our time … And everything else is “China” with prices from a few million rubles: JAC-“Moskvich”, which is not particularly noticeable in the Kaiyi E5 salons, all kinds of “Evolutes” … Well, all other types of “gray” imports, with its standard questions about the warranty service of cars entering Russia according to its schedules.

You won’t accelerate particularly, especially if your finances aren’t as good as some oligarch or “silovik”. But if you wait a little, at least until the middle of summer, new prospects may appear on the automotive horizon.

First, apparently LADA Vesta NG should be reaching car dealers. For a price (apparently!) Under 2 million rubles. Secondly, the start of official sales of Iranian cars of the Saipa brand is scheduled for the beginning of the summer. In addition, a full-fledged launch of another relatively affordable Chinese car brand, Haima, is expected this summer in Russia.

In general, the Russian market for conditionally cheap new cars promises to become more or less similar to the car market as such by the middle of late summer of 2023 – with something like seller competition, where the buyer has at least some choice and other normal attributes. For this reason alone, it makes sense to postpone the purchase of a new car from this spring to the summer.

As for the secondary car market, it’s also not worth rushing to buy it now in the spring. The fact is that now, when the “secondary” has become more than a real alternative to new cars, at the time of the increase in demand in the spring, sellers are trying to “raise” prices. And at the same time, they are much less inclined to make discounts and bargains. Take advantage of the moment, so to speak.

In addition, many potential sellers of technically “good” copies prefer to postpone the sale of their car in anticipation of the summer. Like, “the car is still normal, I’m driving myself for now.” As a result, the market now offers a greater number of used cars in poor technical condition, but at high prices.

With the expansion of the supply of relatively inexpensive new vehicles, which we talked about above, there is a high probability of a decrease in prices on the “secondary” and an increase in the share of cars sold here without serious “questions on the technical condition. Therefore, buying a car this spring is not the right idea. Better to wait a few months with her.
