After evaluating the market success of the Arkana cross-coupé, Renault began to develop a larger model of this type. The AvtoVzglyad portal suggests that the new product will be built on the same proprietary CMF-CD platform as the Renault Austral crossover.

The publication autoevolution.com, which publishes spy images of the new model, claims that the new product will most likely be called Renault Avantime. According to him, the new cross coupe, positioned as a more massive alternative to models such as the BMW X4 and Mercedes GLC coupe, will get powertrains and exterior elements from the Austral crossover.

Indeed, judging by the published photos, the headlights of the future novelty are almost the same as those of Austral. It’s hard to compare the rest of the front design cues to those of the Austral, as the profuse camouflage obscures the shape and size of the grille and front bumper vents.

At the same time, in the photo you can clearly understand that the roofline of the novelty is more inclined compared to the alleged “source code”. The rear number plate is built into the bumper, unlike the Austral, which has it on the tailgate. Nothing is known about the timing of the model’s possible market entry: Renault has not yet made any official statements, not even about its development.
