At what distance from the traffic cop should the driver stop his vehicle after waving the “striped” wand? After all, the reaction of the “steersman” may depend on

At what distance from the traffic cop should the driver stop his vehicle after waving the “striped” wand? After all, the reaction of the “steersman” may depend on a number of factors, but it will be quite difficult for the inspector of the traffic police to explain this. With details – the portal “AvtoVzglyad”.

In some cases, it is quite difficult to stop at lightning speed at the request of a traffic cop, and it doesn’t matter where the sharp eye of the police officer decided to “catch” the driver. On a suburban highway, you can’t slow down quickly from, say, 90 mph, and even in the stream, when the soldier waves his baton at the pilot, you have to crawl to change lanes and slow down. How does the law deal with this?

In fact, none of the legislative acts, as in fact the SDA, regulates the distance from the military, which the driver must observe after being stopped by the inspector. However, not everything is so transparent. For example, under clause 6.11 of the SDA, “the driver must stop at the designated place”. But again, the car cannot stand upright even on the orders of a policeman’s “magic wand”, because there is a risk of causing not only a traffic jam, but also an accident. Therefore, the main thing in such a maneuver is not to leave the field of view of the law enforcement officer.

Otherwise, it will be considered a failure to comply with law enforcement requirements. And for such a violation, liability is provided in the form of a fine of up to 4,000 rubles or arrest for up to 15 days.

However, there are situations when the driver simply did not notice the traffic controller gesturing with his hands or a stick, or did not understand that it was he who demanded to stop, and not a downstream neighbor. For such a mistake, the law also punishes – Art. 12.25 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Failure to comply with the requirement to stop the vehicle” provides for a fine of up to 800 rubles. It is much worse that after such tricks a chase can be organized for the driver, and there, as they say, wasted writing.

And motorists also need to remember that even if they have to stop too far at the request of a traffic police officer, in no case should they be turned back. Reversing is prohibited not only on the highway, but on virtually every road, as well as at intersections, pedestrian crossings, tunnels, public transport stops, bridges and viaducts. For such a violation of the “mate” you will be fined from 500 to 2500 rubles. So you don’t have to help the “gays” to approach your car. Unless, of course, the people in uniform demand it themselves.

Besides, a roadside cop has no right to marinate a stopped driver for a long time. The administrative regulations clearly state that the traffic police officer is obliged to immediately address the driver, introduce himself and at the same time state the reason for the stop.
