Spring has come, the gloom has been replaced by the sun. That is why many drivers started wearing dark glasses to avoid straining their eyes from direct exposure to rays that can dazzle more than the high beam of an oncoming vehicle. But is the “mate” obliged to take off the same glasses when communicating with a traffic cop?

First of all, it should be said that tinted glasses not only allow you to comfortably drive a car in sunny weather, but also often arouse more interest among law enforcement officers. The fact is that the unspoken police regulations oblige drivers to check with “curtains” in front of them for possible alcohol or drug intoxication.

For some reason, traffic cops are sure that a person under glasses hides redness from broken capillaries, which sometimes happens after a recent drinking spree, or a narrow or vice versa – a wide pupil caused by the use of prohibited substances for circulation.

In addition, military personnel believe that a civilian under the influence of the “green snake” experiences discomfort from irritating sunlight. So you need to fully control the comrade. But is the driver required by law to remove the sunscreen accessory from his nose and hand over the documents to the inspector of the traffic police?

In fact, none of the legislative documents, including the SDA, mention the need for a driver to remove dark glasses when communicating with roadside police officers. In other words, the traffic cop has no right to force you to do this.

Another thing is that he can turn to the pilot with a request, motivated by the need to identify the person’s identity and match the face with the photo on the driver’s license. In this case you can of course also refuse to take off your glasses. But such behavior will most likely only lead to more interest in your person among law enforcement officers.

If the driver has nothing to hide from the authorities, it is better to respond positively to the military’s request. Otherwise there is a risk of additional checks, screening and even a trip to the police station to verify your identity.

Finally, traffic cops simply do not like to be contradicted, which is why they will happily spoil your mood. After all, as you know, you can even get to the bottom of the pillar. And even for a living person – even more so. In addition, in most situations, the law will be solely on the side of representatives of law enforcement agencies.
