You Mail announced the adjustment of tariffs for their postal services on an exclusive basis. The 9.5579% adjustment came into effect on Monday (2). Last year, the correction was 4.2915%, and in 2020 – 4.3062%.

Among the national services that will receive the adjustment: Letter and National Aerogram, Authorized Franchising of National Letters – FAC (simple), national telegram (Agency, Phone and Internet), Grouped mail – Pouch. The list of international services includes: Letters and postcards in the economic modality (economic document) and in Priority Mode (priority document) and telegrams. In addition to them, the cost of a number of related services will be changed.

A business letter weighing up to 20 grams has been reduced to 2.35 reais. Economy class international letters and postcards cost R$1.90. In the case of national telegrams written via the Internet, the new rate is 9.76 reais per page, down from the current rate of 8.90 reais. A telegram over the phone increased from R$10.74 to R$11.77, and in a branch from R$12.89 to R$14.30. All new tariffs are available in the Official Gazette of the Union.

Correios explains that the adjustment was approved in accordance with the legal provisions, mainly the Decree of the Ministry of Economy No. 3297/2022 and the Decree of the Ministry of Finance No. applied by the post office when providing postal services on an exclusive basis.

The adjustment is below the Extended Consumer Price Index (IPCA) accumulated from January to December 2021, which was 10.06%, and is only intended to offset the impact of inflation over that period.

SEDEX and PAC from abroad

It is important to note that the most popular services for Brazilians were not affected by price adjustments. Competitive services maintain their price for the second year in a row.

National orders (eg SEDEX and PAC) and international orders (import and export services) remain the same. In addition, all discounts applied as of January 31, 2022, covering more than 420 cities of the country, remain.
