A paradoxical situation has arisen in the Russian new car market. Dealers sell cars through two channels: “official” (mainly “Chinese” and our brands) and “grey” (models that left the country due to sanctions or were never sold with us). Both those and others are priceless at first glance. Although, if you wander through the ads for an hour or two, you can find some pretty interesting offers. Another question – are you ready to give up the usual manufacturer’s warranty, which cars imported under the parallel import scheme are remembered a priori, and “treat” an iron friend in case something happens at your own expense?
Not ready, but not becoming the owner of a questionable car from China? Then – welcome to secondary. Not everything is there either, thank God, but the choice, whatever they say, is greater. But with the market of “used” cars you need to be three times careful. First, it still offers a lot of junk – vehicles with serious technical or legal problems. Second, there are new divorce settlements for citizens who want to save money.
Do you think the so-called “austerity” and “Armenian numbers” have sunk into oblivion? But no! Only now resourceful outbidders work not with Armenian, but with Kyrgyz and Kazakh registrations. Purebred “Japanese” with a steering wheel in the glove compartment, incredibly attractive, literally fantastic price, a full package of documents. And in fact, a limited period of ownership, after which big problems begin.
So what to do then? Where to look for a car if you simply have nowhere to postpone the renewal of your personal fleet? We answer this question in detail in the next issue of the AvtoVzglyad portal podcast, which you can listen to Here.
