The new Audi A8L Horch limousine turned out to be significantly cheaper than the Maybach: prices for a 5.45-meter car start from 1.3 million yuan (197 thousand dollars), while the six-cylinder Mercedes-Maybach S 480 in China costs from 1.54 million yuan . (233 thousand dollars). Audi is offering the Horch a unique two-tone paint finish, exclusive 20-inch wheels and enhanced personalization options.

The Audi A8L Horch debuted in October 2021, and the automaker was quick to warn that the limousine would only be sold in China. Now the equipment and prices have been announced – Horch is available in four versions, and the most expensive collection will cost 1.75 million yuan (265 thousand dollars).

The difference with the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is big, as the base S 480 costs 18.5 percent more and the heavily equipped eight-cylinder S 580 costs 42 percent more!

Both German limousines are all-wheel drive, Audi is relying on Mercedes-Benz’s 8-speed “automatic” to a 9-speed transmission. The most popular versions in China with 3.0-liter turbo engines, and the Audi A8L Horch offers only such a unit (340 forces, 500 Nm), supplemented by a 48-volt starter-generator.

Feature “Horch” – increased by 13 centimeters wheelbase; other novelty markers are chrome wheels and radiator grilles. By default, the limousine has laser headlights, a panoramic roof, separate multi-contour rear seats with massage and adjustment memory, as well as pillows with Horch inscriptions.

Soon, the Audi A8L lineup will be replenished with another modification – a four-cylinder sedan with a 2.0-liter engine is on its way. The expansion of the range will allow Audi to strengthen the position of the A8L in the most important market for the model – more than half of the executive sedans are now sold in China.
