Our citizens have less and less money and that is why they are starting to save. For example, they often try to fill their cars’ tanks with low-octane fuel. And although car manufacturers do not prohibit this, it is still not worth switching to the more affordable 92e gasoline. And why, explains the portal “AvtoVzglyad”.

One of the hidden threats of using gasoline with an octane rating of 92 is that not all manufacturers add cleaning and detergent additives to the composition – they make the fuel more expensive. And our impoverished citizens don’t need that.

It is known that during work in any power unit, deposits and soot are gradually formed. So: fuel without additives speeds up the process enormously. The result – the engine begins to “sneeze” at idle, vibrations appear. The mates have to look for different chemicals in car shops, which does not always help. Especially if there is too much dirt. As a result, it comes to more expensive work in the service – such as replacing fuel injectors or deboiling the engine, for example.

The use of old fuel also carries risks, especially if storage conditions are violated. Oxygen oxidizes fuel, additives (if any) lose their properties, and moisture impairs performance, leading to the reproduction of various fungi. The result is the same as described above – dirt in the cylinder-piston group. With such savings, there is a high risk of “killing” candles after the first refueling. Sometimes you can even see whole clods of earth on it.

You should not use 92e gasoline, even if it is recommended by the car manufacturer. And such inscriptions on the hatches of gas tanks began to appear en masse, say, on Chinese cars. Note that the engines developed after 2013 were originally designed for the strict Euro-5 and Euro-6 standards. That is, for gasoline AI-98 or even “hundredth”. However, with the help of “software” it is possible to use the 92nd for a short time.

With regular refueling at medium and high speeds, accidental flashes of the combustible mixture occur in the middle of the compression stroke. Not even the knock sensor can handle them. As a result, this explosion condemns the engine to a serious repair already after 50,000 km. So even in Chinese cars it is better to fill in the 98th gasoline. Yes, it is expensive, but the engine is more likely to travel 250,000 km without capital.
