Ferrari is gearing up to launch the Ferrari Purosangue in Brazil in May, according to a report by Autoesporte over the weekend. The first SUV from one of the most famous car manufacturers in the world will arrive in the country for a mere trifle of 5.8 million reais.

The portal reported that the first batch of Ferrari Purosangue is already sold out before it goes on sale in Brazil. This meant that the Italian manufacturer needed to get started with the queue so that the owner of other vehicles could access the SUV.

The launch of an SUV by a luxury goods maker is nothing new, at least not to those who follow other brands. This is because companies such as Lamborghini, Maserati and Rolls-Royce have already produced cars in this style, including the Urus, Levante and Cullinan, respectively, for car enthusiasts.

It is already known that the Ferrari Purosangue engine will be in the front of the car, but the gearbox is installed at the back. It has a power transfer unit in front of the engine to create an all-wheel drive assembly to give the car more power. The engineers found that this provided a 49:51 weight distribution.

Power that draws attention to an SUV

Ferrari equipped the Purosangue with a 6.5-liter V12 engine capable of producing 725 hp. at 7,750 rpm and 73.1 kgf of torque at 6,250 rpm (despite the company’s claim that 80% of torque is available at just 2,100 rpm), mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

This configuration allows the SUV to reach a top speed of 310 km/h, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reaching 200 km/h in an impressive 10.6 seconds. The car is fast enough if you stop thinking it’s an SUV and not a sports car.

Ferrari’s new Purosangue features a look inspired by the brand’s other models, with Roma-like headlights and taillights and a digital instrument cluster like the SF90 Stradale. The interior is made from 85% recyclable materials, and four seats are electronically adjustable and heated.
