Test takers will need to connect a digital wallet and choose the one intended for viewing on the NFT social platform. No commission is given. Instagram has announced a security policy update to strengthen account and wallet protection when connected.
After the token is issued, it will get a flashing effect and will be able to display relevant general information from the blockchain. It is possible to automatically put tags on the collection and the owner of the token if there are appropriate privacy settings.
Instagram has confirmed support for Ethereum and Polygon. Flow and Solana will be added later.
The wallets Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, Dapper, and Phantom will be available for connectivity.
Meta said functionality related to immutable tokens will also appear on Facebook. On Instagram, users will be able to use augmented reality NFTs in Stories via SparkAR.
The development team will continue to work on adding new features.
In January 2022, the Financial Times reported that the company is integrating NFTs into Facebook and Instagram, and is also working on a prototype platform to allow these digital assets to be published.
Recall that in March, the company’s president, Mark Zuckerberg, said that the NFT rendering functionality could appear on Instagram “in the coming months.”
