The MacBook Pro 2021 was introduced just six months ago and now some users are experiencing sound issues. They complain of cracks in the speakers especially when playing any sound.
Numerous complaints can be found on the Apple Community Forum and on Reddit. The problem, as users described, occurs accidentally when playing a song, video or any audio on a MacBook. The clicking sound becomes more pronounced at high volume or high tones.
I have a problem with the 16 inch M1 Pro 2021 (base model). I hear the crackling of laptop speakers while watching videos or listening to music. I had the same issue with the M1 Max I replaced with this M1 Pro. This issue usually occurs when I open a window or watch one or more videos. It’s really frustrating when the sound comes out throughout the video.
Some users believe that the problem is a software bug as Apple has changed their laptops, but the bug has not been fixed. A Reddit user confirmed this theory, saying that the problems can be fixed temporarily after the macOS “coreaudiod” process is complete. While some users claim that the problems disappeared after installing macOS 12.3, other users are experiencing cracking speakers.
Apple has yet to acknowledge the problem.
