Tether announced the launch of the USDT stablecoin on the Polygon second layer network.
According to Alchemy, as of April 2022, more than 19,000 dapps are running on Polygon, six times the number in October.
“The polygon ecosystem has experienced historic growth this year and we believe it will be essential to Tether’s continued prosperity,” said Paolo Ardoino, Tether CTO.
In addition to Polygon, USDT is available on the Standard Ledger protocol of Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, Algorand, Tron, Omni, EOS, Liquid Network, Kusama, and Bitcoin Cash.
At the time of writing, the USDT market supply has reached $72.5 billion.
Recall that on May 26, Tether launched a “stable coin” MXNT pegged to the Mexican peso. Even then, the company announced that the asset is available on Ethereum, Tron and Polygon networks.
