Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin named that’s a “good hypothesis”.
Another lead developer, Terence Cao, confirmed that the rebuild is possible due to the different timing of client software updates. According to their calculations, about 75% of the nodes implemented Proposer Boost and 25% did not.
“There was a 0.25 chance of such an event.6for it to happen. So this is a big coincidence, ”the expert emphasized.
This gives roughly ~75% increased nodes and ~25% non-increased nodes in the network.

Recall that the developers looked for August as the most likely date for Ethereum’s transition to the Proof of Stake consensus algorithm.
