In May, 202 new crypto-ATMs were installed in the world. According to Coin ATM Radar data, the last time the indicator was this low was 2019.
The slowdown in device installations started in January 2022. However, in June the trend turned positive – 863 cryptomats have already appeared in the first days of the month.
Currently there are 37,836 devices in the world. In terms of countries, the United States is in the lead – 87.9% of total cryptocurrency ATMs are concentrated here.
The dominant manufacturer is Genesis Coin, which holds 41% of the market. It is followed by General Bytes (21.6%), BitAccess (16%) and Coinsource (5.4%).
The top 10 operators operate more than half (70%) of working bitcoin ATMs. The leaders – Bitcoin Depot, CoinCloud and CoinFlip – share more than 9% of the total.
Recall that in March, the Financial Conduct Authority of the United Kingdom warned that operators of cryptocurrency ATMs are operating illegally in the country.
