Cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex and Tether are not planning to lay off their employees due to a negative market situation. Blok writes about it.
COO In a comment to the publication, Bitfinex Claudia Lagorio said the exchange continues to invest in talent and resources in a “balanced and methodical way”.
“We have a number of career opportunities that we want to fill and our hiring plans remain in place,” he said.
A Tether spokesperson told The Block that the company is committed to expanding its staff. According to him, “everything remains as usual” for the USDT issuer.
“Tether is profitable and will continue to be recruited in key roles to support the business. We care about our employees and their future – even in past crypto winters we have not cut staff and we never will.”
Lagorio said Bitfinex and Tether currently employ 250 people.
A similar position is taken by the Binance bitcoin exchange. Its chairman, Changpeng Zhao, described the crypto winter as the right time to recruit new employees and further develop the business through various acquisitions.
Earlier, the state optimization BitMEX, Robinhood, Gemini, Bitso and the parent company of the Brazilian Mercado Bitcoin exchange were announced.
Trading platform Coinbase will cut its staff by about 18%, and blockchain platform BlockFi by 20%.
Recall that in June, Chris Marszalek, CEO of Crypto.com, announced plans to lay off about 260 employees.
According to some reports, Bybit cryptocurrency exchange will also cut staff.
