The current crisis in the cryptocurrency industry has weeded out those who do not belong to it and those who “abuse opportunities”. This view was expressed by American rapper Snoop Dogg in an interview with CNBC.
In his opinion, negative phenomena in the long run will bring “some benefit.”
“I think there’s a downturn in every major industry, there’s always a depression in every industry you can look at,” said Snoop Dogg.
The rapper added that major labels will inevitably enter the Web3 and NFT segments because “they all” turned to him for advice.
“Sooner or later labels will have to intervene. They will need to sit at the table and understand that their catalogs and what they store serve better on the blockchain,” added Snoop Dogg.
His words are confirmed by the rising trend among the leading representatives of the industry. Previously, Warner Music Group Corporation entered into a partnership with the developer of NFT game Splinterlands, and Sony Music was involved in a $30 million investment round of MakersPlace’s non-tradable token platform.
In November 2021, Universal Music Group released a band of “bored monkeys” from the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection.
Snoop Dogg also touched on the Twitter issue. According to the musician, he will “change a lot” on the platform if given the opportunity. The son of the rapper, nicknamed ChampMedici, who appeared in the interview, noted that they are ready to cooperate with Elon Musk if he closes the deal to buy the social network.
Snoop Dogg is a well-known collectible token investor under the pseudonym Cozomo de’ Medici. The rapper has released his own NFT series, including a collaboration with Nyan Cat meme creator Chris Torres.
It also announced the establishment of digital marijuana farms in the metaverse of the MOBLAND project and the launch of an NFT sweet shop.
In February, the musician announced plans to turn Death Row Records into his first NFT label.
Recall that on June 24, Snoop Dogg and Eminem released a video in which they appeared in the form of animated monkeys in collaboration with BAYC.
