Talk about increasing duties on autotuning started a few years ago, and now, finally, this story has come to a conclusion. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law that provides for an increase in state fees for the completion of cars – the innovation will come into effect on January 1, 2023.
If previous drivers who registered tuned cars could get permission to make changes to the design of the vehicle for free, then the document will now cost them 1,000 rubles. You will have to pay more for a certificate of conformity of the modified machine with safety requirements: 1,500 rubles instead of the previous 800.
But that is not everything. Among other things, the certificate of approval of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods has “increased in price”. It does not matter whether the driver receives a document for the first time or instead of an old document (lost, damaged), he will still have to pay 1,500 rubles. And if we talk about renewing the permit, then – 1000.
The financial and economic justification for the law states that the innovation will generate an additional annual inflow of approximately 700 million rubles into the state treasury. After all, the traffic police issues about 140,000 certificates of approval for hazardous substances, 240,000 permits for changes to the design and more than 220,000 confirmations that the modified car meets the safety requirements for 12 months.
