Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has announced further expansion to European markets.

The report cites the last meeting of senior executives with UK regulators to establish a regional center of excellence in Ireland. Also, the bitcoin exchange has strengthened its team in Switzerland and is preparing to enter the markets of France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.

Coinbase currently has a presence in the UK, Ireland and Germany.

The company stressed that international expansion remains a priority. Coordinating the bill’s provisions on the regulation of cryptocurrencies, MiCA will allow for scaling efforts within the entire EU space added to Coinbase.

Recall that in January-March 2022, the stock market suffered a net loss of $ 429.7 million, this figure almost doubled analysts’ expectations.

Coinbase has begun optimizing costs in the face of a weak start to the year and the downturn in the cryptocurrency market.

Earlier, the company’s CEO, Brian Armstrong, revealed that around 18% of employees are down due to the start of the crypto winter.
