Greek artist Miltos Manetas, a friend of Julian Assange, has unveiled a non-tradable token (NFT) collection featuring images of the founder of WikiLeaks. Became part of the International Contemporary Art Biennial Arte exhibition.

This Indelible collection consists of 111 NFTs and includes portraits of Assange. Composer Howie B was responsible for the musical accompaniment.

To issue the token, Manetas chose the Materia platform. In total, three drops are planned, the first of which begins on June 27. One NFT costs 0.876 ETH (about $1000 at the time of writing).

Data: Important.

Proceeds from the sales will go to the WikiLeaks Founder’s Support Fund and an independent online art pavilion. According to Manetas, the purpose of the NFT collection is to prevent people from forgetting the plight of Assange because “many media outlets have stopped covering this case.”

Since 2012, the founder of WikiLeaks has been accused of conspiracy to obtain and disclose information that constitutes state secrets in the United States. He was arrested in London in 2019.

In June 2022, British Home Secretary Priti Patel approved the extradition of Assange to the United States, where he would face 175 years in prison. It was learned that he appealed against the decision on 1 July.

Recall that digital artist Pak announced in February a collaboration with Assange to launch an NFT series called Censored.

That same month, AssangeDAO, which was set up to facilitate the release of WikiLeaks’ founder from prison, raised 12,732 ETH (about $39.1 million at the time).
