Cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin does not plan to cut staff, but plans to hire more than three hundred new employees in the coming months. This was announced to CoinDesk by CEO Johnny Liu.
“KuCoin has not made any layoffs and does not plan to do so. “We are one of the few crypto platforms that continues to grow, relying on an effective business strategy, focusing on launching new products and maintaining a healthy team atmosphere.”
Liu said that the number of employees on the exchange has exceeded 1,000 recently. Liu added that the company is seeking new employees in technology, compliance and marketing and is doing its best to “increase the productivity and motivation” of staff.
“We believe our bet on growth in times of market turbulence is the only right thing to help us set the bar high. Any talk that claims otherwise is considered indefensible,” the head of KuCoin stressed.
In early July, Liu denied rumors that the platform had gone bankrupt.
KuCoin reported 216% year-over-year growth in its customer base as the number of exchange users exceeded 18 million.
Recall that crypto platforms such as Coinbase, BlockFi, Gemini, Crypto.com, and OSL started cutting staff on a falling market backdrop.
Status optimization was also announced as the parent company of BitMEX, Robinhood, Bitso, Bullish and Brazilian exchange Mercado Bitcoin.
Changpeng Zhao, CEO of Binance exchange, by contrast, described the crypto winter as a good time to hire new employees.
