In Australia, police arrested three people on suspicion of drug dealing and money laundering via cryptocurrencies.

According to a press release, US federal authorities were involved in the investigation. During the search, law enforcement seized approximately $4.7 million in cash, 5kg of drugs, three cryptocurrency ATMs, laptop computers and mobile phones.

The men were accused of money laundering and drug dealing. One of them was denied bail.

Recall that in October 2021, the police of the Australian state of Victoria exposed one of the largest criminal organizations in the country. According to investigators, the group laundered at least $62 million in cryptocurrencies using the idle bank accounts of 250 Chinese students.

Earlier, law enforcement confiscated a record amount – about $6 million – in cryptocurrency for the country as part of an investigation into drug trafficking via the darknet.
