The State Service of Special Communications of Ukraine plans to offer all citizens the opportunity to use Starlink satellite Internet after the approval of the new technology. This was stated in the press service of the department.
Today, more than 10,000 Starlink stations participate in the transfer of intelligence information between Ukraine and its Western allies to maintain control over critical infrastructure.
“Intensive use of Starlink satellite Internet can affect the operation of the radio relay equipment of the Ukrainian army. Therefore, access to the network of mass consumers with the help of terminals is still limited, ”added the State Special Communications Service.
The exact timing of the full-fledged launch of Starlink in Ukraine is unknown. Representation office opening and certification issues are personally controlled by the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mikhail Fedorov.
Recall that in the early days of the war, the head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation turned to Elon Musk with a request to provide Ukraine with access to Starlink technology, and within a week he received the first 500 stations with free local firmware.
