Yuga Labs will launch the Otherside metaverse on April 30. Sale of free collection tokens for the last 24 hours BAIC and MAY increased by 18% and 108%, respectively.

The studio announced Otherside in March 2022. Yuga Labs did not reveal details of the project, but the later video revealed characters from the BAYC, MAYC, CryptoPunks, and Meebits collections. The company bought the rights to the last two in the same month.

Following the announcement, Yuga Labs’ presentation was leaked to the network. Much attention is paid to MetaRPG, a role-playing game that combines NFTs from previously released collectibles, in the document, which the company does not confirm or deny its authenticity.

According to the presentation, free token holders will be able to use them as game characters. The team will also publish SDKallows creators to design their own NFT.

The Metaverse is claimed to consist of 200,000 plots, but at the initial stage the developers will only release half of it. During the airdrop, 30% will be distributed between BAYC and MAYC holders. The remaining tokens will be put up for sale.

Each site has its own unique set of features. When purchasing regions, users will have a chance to get one of the 10,000 unique NFTs of the new collection – Kodas.

According to CryptoSlam, BAYC and MAYC sales have increased significantly since the announcement. Average NFT prices from these collections hit new all-time highs of 135 ETH (~$398,600) and 35.5 ETH (~$104,800).

According to CoinGecko, the ApeCoin token, which is linked to the Yuga Labs ecosystem and is expected to play an important role in the upcoming metaverse, has increased by around 30% in the last week. At the time of writing, the asset is trading around $16.58.

Recall that in March, Yuga Labs raised $450 million from Andreessen Horowitz, Animoca Brands and other investors. The company was valued at $4 billion.
