In the letter, company representatives said that Visa and Stripe’s decision was motivated by the large number of active users and transactions from Russia.
“Bankoff cards temporarily do not support online and offline transfers and customer funds are frozen in the US account,” the company said.
Some users claim that customers who fund their accounts with cryptocurrencies are also unable to withdraw funds.
Bankoff representatives told ForkLog that they are looking for ways to resolve the issue.
After Visa and Mastercard stopped working in the Russian Federation, Russians began to open virtual Bankoff cards for payments abroad.
Recall that on March 9, the Binance bitcoin exchange stopped supporting transactions with Visa and Mastercard cards issued in Russia.
Also in March, Western Union money transfer system and British transaction service Wirex stopped serving Russians.
