Last week, cryptocurrency exchange FTX and SALT forum held a closed conference in the Bahamas. Bill Clinton, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, and others attended the event, organizers told ForkLog.
The Crypto Bahamas conference lasted four days – from April 26 to April 29. It was possible to buy tickets to the event only after receiving an invitation. The latter was sent to major crypto industry startup and hedge funds, startups, partners and some FTX clients.
Among the guests invited were: Bill Clinton, Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, Tony Blair, Tom Brady, Sam Bankman-Fried, Anatoly Yakovenko, Mike Novogratz, Steve Aoki and others.
Sponsors and attendees of the conference were Solana, Near Protocol, Stepn, Algorand, MetaMask Institutional, BlockFi, Google Cloud, Avalanche, DyDx, 1inch, Ripple and other companies.
At the event, FTX announced the creation of a $1 billion environmental charity, and the exchange said it will also launch print media ad campaigns, including Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair and The New Yorker.
According to the Financial Times, in March, Goldman Sachs chairman David Solomon offered to assist FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried in arranging an IPO for the bitcoin exchange.
