At the end of April, Xiaomi stopped software support for a special Chinese smartphone, the Mi 10 Lite Zoom. At the time, we predicted that the global Mi 10 Lite 5G could receive similar treatment a month later. This happened because the device was listed on the official Xiaomi EOS list (end of support).
At the same time, the company stopped software support for three phones in the series. Redmi Note 9 like Redmi Note 9S, Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. by words XiaomiuiAdded Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G Add it to your EOS list. This confirms the end of software support for this phone. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 9 models in question are not yet on the list. However, they should only receive security updates until May 2023, according to the security bulletin.
Since these phones have just received the April security update and May ends soon, there may not be any new software builds. The EOS list will probably be updated with these phones after a while.
All these smartphones were launched in early 2020. That’s why Xiaomi stopped supporting the software 3 years after it was released. In contrast, similarly priced Samsung devices from the same period will continue to receive software support until next year (4 years). However, Oppo, Vivo and Realme have the same policy as Xiaomi.
