Both systems are designed to reduce energy costs. They also provide emergency backup power in the event of a power outage. According to the source, the first deliveries will begin in Europe. For Ukraine, this still applies to the enraged neighbor.
Power Flow
EcoFlow PowerStream is a very easy-to-install kit for entry-level solar independence. It is positioned as “the world’s first balcony solar energy system with portable batteries”. Balcony solar energy has become a certain trend in Europe, and another company, Anker, announced its counterpart very quickly. Europeans began to install solar panels to hedge against the skyrocketing electricity prices caused by Russia’s actions.
- The heart of the PowerStream system is a micro-inverter to which you can connect light solar panels up to 800 watts.
- These panels can be attached to a balcony railing or left on a flat terrace or garden – EcoFlow provides all the necessary fixings.
- The solar panels are then connected to the microinverter through the closed window with a flat cable, which will help most people avoid drilling.
- Plug the micro-inverter into a standard outlet (no need to fiddle with a switch) and the solar energy will be converted from DC to AC and routed to your devices along with the excess being fed into the EcoFlow power station’s battery.
- No battery? No problem, a micro inverter will feed all available energy into your home to help lower your energy bills.

Solar panels installed on the balcony feed the solar energy to the battery via a micro inverter and/or to the house from a regular AC outlet. A special flat cable allows you to close the window / Collage 24 Channels/EcoFlow
- Prices start at €369 for a micro-inverter and a pair of Matter-enabled smart plugs that help divert solar energy.
- If you add two 400-watt panels, the price increases to 1,011 euros.
- Up to 2,661 euros if you add a battery with a capacity of 2 kilowatt-hours.
PowerOcean
PowerOcean, unlike PowerStream, requires professional installation. It is a more powerful three-phase EcoFlow solar backup solution designed to give homeowners energy independence. The technology is similar to Tesla Powerwall. This is a set of batteries enough to power the average home for a few days, or just essential appliances for much longer.

In addition to batteries, the other main component of the PowerOcean system is a hybrid inverter with a capacity of up to 10 kilowatts to power almost all single-phase appliances, as well as three-phase appliances such as electric stoves and water pumps. EcoFlow claims the auto-switching is so fast during power outages that “users will hardly notice that the light is out.”
EcoFlow also features a PowerOcean DC Fit modification that allows batteries with capacities of up to 15 kilowatt-hours to be easily integrated into existing home solar installations. The PowerOcean system has an IP65 protection class (protection against dust and water jets) and the batteries have an automatic heating feature that allows them to operate at low temperatures. This makes the kit suitable for installation on an exterior wall, for example, as long as there is a cornice that provides basic protection against sun and rain.
EcoFlow PowerOcean prices will vary greatly depending on the type of accommodation, so EcoFlow does not provide a specific figure. While PowerOcean was initially limited to Germany, the PowerOcean DC Fit is targeting all of Europe.
