After four years of support, Samsung has officially stopped releasing Android updates for the flagship smartphones Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ released in 2018. This change is long past due: Samsung has only recently supported the Galaxy S9 series with quarterly updates.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S9 series a little over four years ago, in late March 2018. The series was relatively well received, but failed to compete with the previous Samsung Galaxy S8 series.
Samsung still offers quarterly Android updates for the Galaxy Note 9, which was released later in 2018. The latest major update to the Galaxy S9 is the Android 10 operating system.
At the same time, Samsung has also reduced the frequency of quarterly updates for the Galaxy S10. The phone was last updated in March. The phone should continue to receive updates until about a year before support ends completely. Source
