Unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2023, the updated Freestyle projector bears a striking resemblance to its predecessor. Although its appearance has not changed greatly, the projector is integrated with the latest software compatible with Samsung TVs.

The audience was particularly interested in the intelligent smoothing function of the screen edges shown in the exhibition. This innovation combined two Freestyle projectors to produce a three-dimensional image of 150 inches (3.81 meters).

However, this feature is not mentioned in Samsung’s official announcements. It reportedly failed to meet expectations during testing, leading to it being removed from the development process.

A valuable upgrade

Although the Freestyle Gen 2 is enriched with important features such as the Gaming Hub, it can be considered as an enhanced version of its first model. Notably, Samsung also introduced a new Samsung SolarCell Remote to accompany the launch of the projector. Additionally, the company has expanded a limited-time offering by giving first-time buyers a free protective projector case.

Price

Freestyle Gen 2 projector can be pre-ordered for a fee $799.99, $100 cheaper than its predecessor. Samsung claims that the updated model has expanded memory and a more responsive user interface that works much faster.
