You would be wrong, because the most successful model, at least in the iPhone 14 family, was definitely the most expensive and most exclusive of the models available. The Cupertino company wants to take advantage of this shoot and bring the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max to the top with the help of a very special feature.

Pro Max victory. Data from Omdia consultancy reveals that the most distributed model of the iPhone 14 family between January and June 2023 is the iPhone 14 Pro Max with 26.5 million units. The 14 Pro sold 21 million units, while the iPhone 14 “only” reached 16.5 million units.

trend change. Normally the cheaper models sell better, and that’s actually what happened in 2022 when the best-selling device was the iPhone 13 with its standard version. The change is unique, especially given the current economic situation: People may be more resistant to changing their mobile phones, but when they do and they bet on Apple, they seem to bet on the most exclusive model in the entire range.

iPhone 15 Pro Max for everyone. It looks like Apple wants to focus on exactly these super high-end models next year. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that Cupertino company is focusing its bet on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, that it wants the upcoming family to take 35-40% of all sales, and this figure will be between 10 and 20%. Higher than that of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

above the periscope. One of the biggest arguments of this model would be the existence of optical zoom with periscope system. Thanks to this system, the iPhone 15 Pro Max would be able to enjoy 5x or 6x optical zoom instead of the current 3x zoom. This lens will also be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max and will come to Pro models alongside the iPhone 16 next year.

Apple allies with Largan. The manufacturer of these unique lenses is Taiwanese manufacturer Largan Precision, which was founded in 1987. It is estimated that Apple’s new partner will produce between 15 and 20 million lenses for these mobile phones, but by 2023 this number will increase and they will be able to reach. 30 million lenses were produced for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

price will increase. In his analysis, Kuo adds that the periscope system is three to four times more expensive than traditional high-end lenses. This causes Apple to predictably raise the price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max; this will theoretically cost around $100 more than the current iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Delays? Although the date has not been officially confirmed yet, Apple is expected to introduce its new iPhones on September 12. These models will go on sale on Friday, September 22, but there are talk of possible delays to this release during these weeks. According to Kuo, there will be no delays, but there will be a limited number of first units, which means there will be no problems meeting initial demand.
