Just like last year, we will have iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models in 6.1 and 6.7 inches. It maintains XDR panels with the same resolution, HDR and Dolby Vision. Since there is no improvement here, the brightness figures are comparable to the iPhone 15: 2,000 nits peak brightness and 1,600 nits for HDR content.

Great power that can compete with the best

The new iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max come with a new processor: Apple A17 Bionic. It is the industry’s first three-nanometer processor, and what they promise is 19 billion transistors, currently the most advanced. The GPU is the fastest on any phone, and the CPU (10% faster) is configured with two high-performance and six high-efficiency cores. Neural Engine 16 times faster compared to the previous generation.

This SoC continues to use ray tracing to enhance scenes and promises to be more efficient and four times faster than the last generation. It has a special driver for USB. Transfer up to 10 Gbps (USB 3 speed). This A17 Pro also includes a dedicated AV1 decoder. This opens the door to improvements in video playback.

No change on autonomy, promising the same reproductive figures as the last generation. Apple does not disclose battery capacities, but similar figures are expected.

Renewed camera system

iPhone 15 Pro and Pro max can shoot 48 MP in HEIF format.

The camera is still 48 megapixels, but the sensor has been renewed Compared to iPhone 15 (larger). These are the only iPhones that can shoot in ProRAW format, and they offer higher resolution functionality. Besides the usual 12-megapixel mode with pixel binning, we can now shoot in 48-megapixel mode and HEIF format, which promises greater sharpness.

The Smart HDR algorithm has been improved, providing better control of highlights. iPhone 15 Pro Max launches an all-new telephoto lens5x optical zoom with 120mm focal range and f/2.8 aperture. Video recording can be done in ProRes 4K 60 FPS format and can be recorded directly to the hard disk thanks to the USB 3-C port. It can record in log format, which is a fairly flat format that makes editing and grading (color correction) easier in post-production.

They are also introducing “spatial video” functionality that can shoot video with all three cameras simultaneously. It is a function designed to play this format on Apple Vision Pro and will arrive by the end of the year.
