Features of Chromebook Plus devices

The Chromebook Plus series meets Google’s stringent quality standards, offering users higher performance, AI-powered webcams, advanced displays, and twice the RAM and internal memory compared to previous models.

• The Chromebook Plus will be powered by 12th Gen Intel Core i3 or above processors and AMD Ryzen 3 7000 series processors or above.
• The devices will be available in configurations with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB SSD storage, effectively doubling the amount of memory and storage capacity compared to previous models.
• One of the most important updates is the introduction of IPS displays with Full HD or higher resolution, and some models feature a touch screen.
• Chromebook Plus devices will also feature webcams with a minimum resolution of 1080p, equipped with noise reduction and AI features such as background blur and lighting enhancement, and will be easily accessible via a dedicated button in the ChromeOS taskbar, regardless of the active application.

What’s new in Chrome OS

Notable innovations include:

• Meet File Sync on Chromebook Plus with increased storage capacity. This allows users to store Google Workspace files on their devices, and these files will automatically sync with Google Drive.
• The Google Photos app has received an HDR effect and “magic eraser” function, allowing users to easily remove unwanted objects from their photos. Additionally, Chromebook Plus now offers dynamic wallpapers and screensavers that adapt to the time of day.
• Chromebook Plus users will have access to a host of creative tools, including Google Photos Movie Maker, the Lumafusion video editor, and an online version of Adobe Photoshop powered by Adobe Firefly’s generative AI.
• Attractive offers in the Settings section for users of the ChromeOS Explore app include a free three-month subscription to Photoshop for the web, a three-month priority upgrade to GeForce NOW, and potential savings of up to 25% when you purchase LumaFusion at the base price of $30.

Google has ambitious plans to bring more AI-powered features to all Chromebook Plus models next year, promising an AI assistant accessible via the context menu to make composing text easier.

Other expected features include the ability to create personalized wallpapers and backgrounds for video calls with simple text prompts.

Which Chromebook Plus series laptops will be available

• Acer will present models Chromebook Plus 515 And Acer Chromebook Plus 514 starting at $400 in the traditional laptop form factor. These models will be equipped with 8 or 16 GB RAM and 1080p resolution webcams. The Acer Chromebook Plus 515 will be available with 13th or 12th generation Intel Core processors with an optional 15.6-inch FHD touchscreen and 512GB SSD storage.

• Universal laptop transformer IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook Plus It will be equipped with Intel Core i3-1315U or Intel Core i5-1334U processors from Lenovo. It has 8GB of RAM and offers configurations with 128GB eMMC, 256GB or 512GB SSD storage. The device has a 14-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, compatible with a 1080p webcam and Lenovo USI pen. The price of this device starts from $550.
• Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3iA regular 14-inch laptop will be available with a touch or non-touch screen with FHD resolution. It will be equipped with an Intel Core i3-N305 processor, 8 GB RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB eMMC storage.
• ASUS enters the fray Chromebook Plus CX34It is equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, a 512GB solid-state drive, an FHD display, and a 1080p webcam. This device has an antimicrobial coating and a large touch panel, and its price starts at $400.
• Completing the squad ASUS Chromebook Plus CM34 Flip It is based on the AMD Ryzen 3+ processor with a 14-inch FHD display, priced at $500.
