According to a recent report that has surfaced online, Samsung has started rolling out the October security update for its Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphones.

For those who don’t know, the company launched this smartphone in August 2021 with Android 11 pre-installed. The device was later updated to Android 12 in the same year and to Android 13 in late 2022. Galaxy Z Flip 3 is expected to receive the One UI 6.0 update when it arrives.

The update is currently available for download on Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphones in a limited number of countries. For example, Colombia, Guatemala, Panama, Peru and Trinidad and Tobago. The fix comes with build version F711BXXS6FWI1. It is worth noting that the patch focuses mainly on security and does not bring any UI improvements or new features. Samsung has managed to fix serious vulnerabilities, such as attacks that could allow attackers to run malicious viruses over Wi-Fi networks.

Additionally, the October security update first appeared on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 and is slowly rolling out to other smartphones. Those eligible for the update can go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. The company has not yet announced when the patch will be available for other countries. However, we expect other countries to receive the update soon. So stay tuned.
