The leak claims that NVIDIA is preparing the GeForce RTX 4080 Ti, a new high-end graphics card that will hit the market in beginning of 2024, i.e. during the first quarter of the mentioned year, and which will use the AD102 graphics core. Its TGP will be less than 450 watts and in theory it will have the same price than the GeForce RTX 4080, at least in the United States.

We’ve said a lot in very few words, so I think it’s important to dig a little deeper into some of them. On the one hand, it should be noted that the launch of the GeForce RTX 4080 Ti the GeForce RTX 4080 won’t disappear, the two will co-exist and the latter will receive a significant price drop to better suit its new market position.

Maybe it will end fall below 1000 eurosand if this happens, NVIDIA will have to adjust the price of other graphics cards, such as the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti and GeForce RTX 4070. This will undoubtedly be good news, because these price movements may be the key for many users to finally decide to upgrade their graphics cards .

The graphics core used by the GeForce RTX 4080 is AD103while the GeForce RTX 4080 Ti will use it AD102, which is the same as the GeForce RTX 4090. This means that we can expect a significant improvement in its specifications and number of shaders. We don’t have anything official yet, but I can give you an estimate of what I think we can expect from this new graphics card.

AD102

Possible specifications of GeForce RTX 4080 Ti

  • AD102 graphics core made on TSMC’s 5nm node.
  • 14080 shaders at 2100MHz-2400MHz, normal and turbo mode.
  • 440 texturing units.
  • 144 raster units.
  • 440 tensor cores of the fourth generation.
  • 110 cores of the third generation RT.
  • 320-bit bus.
  • 20 GB GDDR6X 21.2 GHz memory (848 GB/s bandwidth).
  • 80 MB L2 cache.
  • Performance in FP32 67.58 TFLOPs.
  • 400W TGP.

Regarding the price, it should be taken into account that in Spain it would not make sense to list the GeForce RTX 4080 Ti at 1,469 euros, the introductory price of the GeForce RTX 4080, because It would be too close to the GeForce RTX 4090 the cheapest we can currently find. With that in mind, I think it will most likely end up costing a bit less.

In terms of performance, I think we can expect an approximate improvement between 10% and 15% compared to the GeForce RTX 4080. Keep in mind that I’m talking about average values and that the differences may be larger or smaller in specific games.
